Trade Unions & Shop Stewards

A Trade Union record holds the union's recognition agreement, its officials, and its recognised Companies - and, crucially, its list of Union Shop Stewards (linked Employees).

Why this matters elsewhere in the app

Every Disciplinary Action creation alert checks whether the accused employee is a listed Shop Steward for any Trade Union, and says so explicitly in the email - shop-steward status often carries specific procedural rights during a disciplinary process, so surfacing it immediately (rather than requiring someone to check separately) is deliberate.

The Trade Union Membership report lists employees by union, filterable by Company and Branch - useful for confirming recognition thresholds or reporting on union density at a site.
